2D and 3D draughting / tracing using AutoCAD 2000, Architectural Desktop 3 and 3D Studio Max.

Much of thecadhouse's work is based upon a client giving us a rough drawing of which he or she has scribbled down certain bits of information, whether it be Architectural, Electrical or Mechanical and it is our job to take that information and produce a workable and presentable drawing for use on site, for a meeting, an exibition or for archival purposes. We are currently expanding into the Architectural Desktop and 3d Studio programs and hope to be able to produce some good 3d visuals in the near future.

Colour and Black & White digital printing and plotting from our Reprographics unit

All our printing is done digitally, whether it be Colour or Black & White. By using the latest equipment, your drawings can be produced to the highest standards.

File storage Archiving and Scanning onto Hard drive / backup disks and CD.

This is acheived by scanning your original drawings in. We can scan colour or black and white. The colour scans are generally saved as a TIF, JPG or PDF file, and the black and white drawings as Group 4 Compressed tif file. The thing to note with saving your original files, especially if you require a colour finish is the Mb (megabyte) size. An A1 drawing at 200dpi (dots per inch) can range from 20/30mb upto 150mb in size depending on sheet coverage when saved as a tif file.

Generally when a company has to archive their finished drawings or indeed all the drawings relating to the project, they are saved in a black and white format with a group 4 compression as a tif file. This file size is minimal, around 200kbytes to 600kbytes (approximately half a megabyte) enabling you to put the whole project onto one standard 650mb CD, including specifications, documents and possibly a viewing / indexing package.

The best ruling these days with a colour scan is to save it as a PDF file. This is becoming the universal format to use as so many people have Acrobat Reader on there machines to view and print the files as required. Once again the file size is minimal compared with a TIF image and if necessary you can save the PDF files into a Multipage document. i.e. a manual can be saved in one whole document rather than several different pages.

With the use of the latest Microsoft programs available, we can help in producing letters, forms, data and spreadsheets along with the possibility of a presentation slide show document for you to show the clients and customers.

EDMS.

We are looking at the possibility of producing a secure web site (password encriptied) to allow people to view, read and check all drawings, specifications and documents relating to the project.
